Connecting Leaders for Learning
One of the main themes of the Chief Inspector's Report 2004-2006 was the need to make connections between all those who support and help young people to learn and reach their full potential.
On 13 September the Inspectorate hosted a conference to bring together representatives of all the agencies and departments, in order to discuss how better connections could be developed to support the learner.
The Permanent Secretaries of the Department of Education, Department for Employment and Learning and Department for Culture Arts and Leisure outlined how their departments were promoting initiatives and working with others for the benefit of all learners.
The conference also heard from Professor Dyson, who directs the Centre for Equity in Education at Manchester University, as well as the leaders of schools and colleges who outlined the benfits and challenges of working with others.
