Over the two academic years, 2008-10, the Education and Training Inspectorate together with the five Initial Teacher Education providers in Northern Ireland, carried out a series of combined self-evaluations (by the providers) and inspections (by the Inspectorate) of the four Batchelor of Education, (B Ed) and the seven post-graduate (PGCE) programmes provided by St Mary’s University College, Stranmillis University College, Queen’s University, Belfast, the University of Ulster and the Open University, as part of the Department of Education’s (DE) process of approving ITE programme.
