- The school’s vision of ‘Accomplishing More Together’ is modelled and lived out well in every aspect of school life, fostering a strong sense of community, ambition and success for all pupils.
- The pupils and staff live out the four core values of Excellence, Empowerment, Respect, and Kindness through learning, supporting and helping one another with mutual empathy and high regard.
- Research-informed teaching strategies enable the pupils to understand well how they learn, develop transferable skills and make progress. Inspectors observed a very high level of consistently effective learning and teaching.
- The use of digital technology is well embedded in teaching and learning and is underpinned by a highly effective whole school digital strategy. Consequently, the pupils apply well their digital skills across all areas of school life.
- Health, well-being and keeping safe is a high priority for all staff and is reflected in the highly positive relationships observed between pupils and staff.
- The school community is wholly committed to celebrating diversity, promoting equality and embracing inclusion. As a result, the pupils benefit greatly from the very high levels of empathy, care and support provided for them.
- The provision for the pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder is meeting well their needs and enabling them to thrive in a very positive learning environment.
- The school sets accurate targets for all pupils, and its internal data shows that nearly all the pupils, including those with a statement of special educational need, achieve in line with, or above, their abilities and expectations in public examinations.
- The school's curriculum is broad and balanced at key stages 3 and 4 and is meeting effectively the needs of all pupils. Appropriately, school leaders continue to work towards increasing further the number of pupils at post-16 to improve the sustainability of the sixth form.
- The well-planned Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme across the school prepares and guides the pupils well in making key subject choices for progression.
- Staff learn professionally from, and with, each other, creating a highly effective learning community built on mutual trust and the shared vision.
- Consultation between the staff and all pupils is ongoing, active and meaningful.
- At the time of the inspection, the evidence provided by the school demonstrates that the arrangements for child and adult protection align to the current statutory guidance.
Next steps
Priory Integrated College is implementing very effectively its vision of ‘Accomplishing More Together’ underpinned by the core values of Excellence, Empowerment, Respect, and Kindness to ensure success for pupils of all abilities and backgrounds. As set out in the school development plan, the next steps for Priory Integrated College is to take forward the area for action: to continue to work towards increasing further the number of pupils at post-16 to improve the sustainability of the sixth form.
The ETI, through the district inspector, will monitor the school’s progress in addressing the area for action, as part of ETI’s normal monitoring processes.
