The Education and Training Inspectorate (ETI) provides professional evaluation services for a number of government departments: this report on the Understanding Difficulties in Literacy Development Programme is the result of commissioned evaluation work undertaken at the request of the Department of Education (DE).

In 2011, the Department of the Environment (DOE) launched a new road safety strategy for Northern Ireland, ‘Northern Ireland’s Road Safety Strategy to 2020' with cross-departmental action measures and key targets for the reduction in the number of deaths and serious injuries caused on Northern Ireland’s roads. 

Between December 2014 and March 2015, the Inspectorate carried out a longitudinal evaluation of the College’s industry training provision. The evaluation focused on the quality of the leadership and management of the College; the effectiveness of the self-evaluation and quality improvement planning processes; the achievements and standards; and the quality of the provision for training and learning.
