These ETI thematic reports on Remote Learning are based on an ETI questionnaire on the delivery of remote learning during the week of 25 January 2021, along with further qualitative evidence gathered during focused discussions by District Inspectors with settings throughout January and February 2021. Case studies are included.

These ETI phase reports are based on inspection and evaluation activity, and other work carried out between September 2018 and December 2020. They aim to promote improvement in the interests of all learners, and keep children and young people at the heart of everything we do. Each report identifies and shares examples of effective provision; in order to stimulate debate about effective learning and teaching, and the future of education in Northern Ireland.

With the interests of the children at the heart, this Project focused on developing important communication and relationships between parents, pre-school providers and primary schools.  The work undertaken helped ensure a smooth transition from the home to Nursery, and from Nursery to Year 1 where the needs of the child could be met in a timely, individualised and proactive manner.
