Better numeracy in primary schools has two main purposes: to identify the characteristics of the very good practice in numeracy which exists within primary schools in Northern Ireland; and, to assist teachers, co-ordinators and senior managers in their ongoing work to promote improvement in the interest of their children.

An Evaluation of Transition in Mathematics: Primary to Post-primary
During the period December 2008 to December 2009, the Education and Training Inspectorate visited eleven post-primary schools and 13 feeder primary schools in seven geographical areas. On a few occasions during December 2009, it was possible to observe and interview pupils in year 8 who had been observed the previous year, in year 7.

An Evaluation by the Education and Training Inspectorate of the "niyouthinfo.org" website
The niyouthinfo website is a cross-sectoral project under the direction of the Inter-Board Youth Information Panel and currently managed by the Western Education and Library Board through a Memorandum of Understanding. The project’s current steering group consists of representatives from the five Education and Library Boards, the Youth Council for Northern Ireland, Youthnet, and the Northern Ireland Youth Forum. The project originally made an application to the Department of Education for funding from the Executive Programme Fund in October 2002 to develop the niyouthinfo website.
